Durango - Eagle Mountain

The great thing about the internet is that you can soar on the wings of your imagination to any place you'd like to be, and you can be whoever you'd like to be. In real life (IRL), my name is Ed Williamson, and I live in Texas, USA. Places shape you. I've lived in several places in New Mexico and Texas in the past few years. Texas is a good place to live in this season of life. It's relaxed here, relatively safe, and you can watch a sunset and think. The cares of the modern world don't blow you away like they do some places I've been. So Texas is good, very good. However, if I were retired and had the ability, where I'd like to be living someday is an adventurous life high in the San Juan mountains above Durango, Colorado. Hence, the "Eagle Mountain" dream of a cabin in the woods high on a mountain above Durango.

{ Wouldn't this be a great place to spend a weekend…or a week…or a winter? Ah, world enough and time… }

Maybe it's an American archetype. There are so many ways to have a great time in Durango and the beautiful mountains around the town. Alas, for now in order to get my mountain "fix", in the summers I like to climb high in the Colorado mountains, looking for the summits of the "fourteeners", those wondrous mountains over 14,000 feet high.They are not as hard to climb as you might think, and the climbing experience is absolutely awesome! You can experience a closeness to God there that makes you thankful to have been born! It's a beautiful place way up there in the Rocky Mountains...so welcome to the Rocky Mountain heights...in your imagination and mine...for a few moments of relaxation, adventure, and reflection!
